THOMAS MADDUX

In the name of God Amen.  I Thoams Maddux being aged & infirm but in proper mind & power do ordain this my last Will and Testament:

 

Item     I give & bequeath to my beloved wife Margaret Maddux a Tract of Land lying in Prince Willliam County containing two hundred and sixty four acres to apt, will, sell or dispose of as she thinks proper.

 

Item     I give to my daughter Ester Sally Maddux one horse, bridle & Saddle worth twenty five pounds Virginia currency and one Cow & Calf, one Bed & Furniture.

 

Item     I give to my Daughter Fanny Gansom (Garrison?) one bed & Furniture.

Item     I give to my Daughter Darkes Jones one bed & Furniture.

Item     I give to my son Thomas Maddux one shilling & three pence

Item     I give to my son Mathew Maddux one shilling & three pence

Item     I give to my son Lazarus Maddux one shilling & three pence

Item     I give to my son Schoolfield Maddux one shilling & three pence.

Item     I give to my son William Maddux one shilling & three pence

Item     I give to my son Nathaniel Maddux one shilling & three pence

Item     I give to my beloved wife Margaret all my personal estate during her lifetime

 

Lastly   I leave my beloved wife Margaret & my son Lazarus Maddox my Executors to this my last Will & Testament.

 

Given under my hand and Seal this 14th day of October in the year of our Lord 1782
